Dulquer Salmaan is a popular South Indian actor who featured in Malayalam and Tamil movies. The actor is also prominently known as ‘DQ’ by his fans and industry. He is the son of Popular Malayalam actor Mammootty. Made his debut in Mollywood in 2012 Second Show.
Dulquer was born on 28th July, 1986 in Kochi to Mammootty and Sulfath. He completed his schooling in Chennai, Tamil Nadu at Sishya School. After completing his school, he went to United States for Business Management Degree in Purdue University. Completing his college in US, he also worked for some years in the same country.
After decided to begin his career in acting, Dulquer took acting class in Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai.
He has an elder sister, Surumi. On December 2011, DQ was married to Amal Sufiya, she belongs to North Indian Muslim family settled in Chennai. Dulquer and Amal blessed with baby Girl in May 2017.
Completed Degree in business Management from Purdue University (united States)
Made his Malayalam debut in 2012 with Second Show and won Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actor. His second film Ustad Hotel, directed by Anwar Rasheed. The film, which received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
In 2014, His movie ‘Bangalore Days’ declared as all-time blockbuster and highest grossing film of the year. The movie starring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim in lead role along with DQ.
Made his tamil debut with Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, directed by Balaji Mohan. In 2015, Dulquer gets an oppurtunity to work with ace-film maker of Indian Cinema Mani Ratnam for his Ok Kanmani.
The success journey of Dulquer Salman continues after his back to back hits in malayalam like Charlie, Kali, Kammatipaadam in 2016 and 2017.
Dulquer has received many awards for his various movies. Some of the important awards he received till date Filmfare Awards, South Indian International Movie Awards, Asiavision Awards, Asianet Film Awards, Audi RITZ Icon Awards, Vijay Awards, Vikatan Awards, Kerala State Film Award, 2nd IIFA Utsavam, Behindwoods Gold Medal.
